Fort Siloso is the only coastal battery of weapons recovered from the twelve such batteries which made up 'Fortress Singapore' at the beginning of World War II. Fort Siloso was built by the British in the 1880s to guard the narrow western entrance to Keppel Harbour. Fort Siloso and the battery now the only surviving gun from the coast of the twelve such batteries which forms Citadel Singapore at the beginning of the war.
Fort is located on the resort island of Sentosa, restored as a military museum, and open for public tours. Ammunition bunkers, barracks, tunnels, and gun emplacements of the fort is now open to visitors, as a military-themed attraction. Also on display is a collection of artillery from the 17th century to World War II. Life-sized replica of the British troops and others on the screen to depict life in the fort in the past.
